Yukiko goes to the concert at the Carnegie Hall which is one of the most famous venue in the U.S. for classical music, renowned for its beauty, history and acoustics.
The program tonight is the performance by Estella Morente who is a Spanish flamenco singer- daner.

Planet One Cafe in East Village was opened exclusively for Yukiko's party. Yukiko and many friends got together on Wednesday night.
Yukiko (Vocal ), Ralph ( Saxophone), Dick ( Trombone ), George ( Guitar ) and Dan ( Guitar ) performed together.

After the party, Yukiko, Ralph and Dick meet at Ralph's apartment in Harlem.
Dick Griffin is one of the leading Trombone players around today.

Yukiko in New York Day 23

Every Tuesday night, Yukiko takes workshop with Barry Harris who is an internationally renowned jazz pianist, composer and educator.

Barry Harris Trio performs at iridium Jazz club on Broadway quite often. Last week, Yukiko attended to his performance.

Yukiko in New York Day 22

We visit Ralph's apartment in Harlem. Ralph plays saxophone and flute. Ralph told us a story of his experiences performing with Earl Fatha Hines whose playing shaped the history of jazz.
Ralph is cutting vegetables. He is also telling the story of him playing with McCoy Tyner in Blue Note Jazz Club.
Ralph is cooking pasta.
He is a good cook. Dinner is ready. We enjoy talk about music.

Yukiko in New York, Ralph, a saxophone player

Yukiko often visits Ralph's apartment. His place is about 10 minutes walk from her Harlem apartment and across the street of St. Nick's Pub which is the REAL- DEAL jazz club.
Yukiko practices her songs in his apartment.
Ralph is a professional musician who has toured in Japan many times in the past.

Cleopatra's Needle is a world -renowned Upper West Side Jazz club. On Sunday, they have jam sessions and open mic for singers.
Beautiful grand piano is placed on stage.
Big crowd on Sunday.
Yukiko gets on stage.

Her performance was "Smile."



Yukiko took a photo with a lyricist who wrote lyrics for a famous jazz tune, St. Thomas.
Yukiko met Tom who is a pianist two days ago at another jazz session in East Village. He was the accompanist when performed. Yukiko is happy to see him again at Cleopatra's Needle.

Yukiko in New York City Day 13

Performance day for Yukiko & George. Costume???
The venue is at St. Paul's Chapel in Columbia University.

The venue, Postcrypt Coffee House is located in the basement of St. Paul's Chapel.
Postcrypt Coffee House is full of people came to see a performance.
Yukiko and George performed My Funny Valentine and also White Bird which is Yukiko's original music.

The venue is packed. You can't get in.
